48-yr-old fraudster arrested in Lagos, makes revelation
According to reports on the Lagos State Government’s X handle and website on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, a 48-year-old woman, said to be a fraudster, who was operating around Fatai Atere Way and its environs, was apprehended by operatives from the Mushin command of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) after swindling a teenager.
According to the report, the woman, identified as Toyin Ariyo, was apprehended while allegedly attempting to scam an 18-year-old female, simply known as Ayomide, at the Cappa section of Agege Motor Road.
She was also claimed to have told operatives following her detention that she had been engaged in fraudulent activities in the state for more than 20 years.
Part of the statement reads: “The suspect, who confessed to have been in the fraudulent trade for over 20 years, met her Waterloo when an officer of the corps noticed and accosted the victim, Ayomide, who displayed signs of distress and fear.
“Following the completion of the preliminary investigation, the case was immediately transferred to the police for further investigation and prosecution.”
