It has been less than 24 hours since mega successful Nigerian singer Davido announced the launch of the new social media app which he partly owns called “Chatter”.
Since the announcement of the app’s launch, Nigerians who are Davido’s core audience, and some of the most illustrious people in the world, are already looking at ways they can make the app work for them. In fact, one of the biggest questions since the app’s launch has been: the app dey pay? And well, it looks like even the app’s creators knew that this would be the main question people would be asking; and they are providing answers. Yes, people will be able to make money using the Chatter app, and below are 3 ways people are already trying to begin doing it.

So, to make money on the Chatter App, you need to create a channel which people are already doing. Once you create a channel, these are THREE ways you can monetize your channel according to the app’s information:
1. Through Subscribers
One of the biggest ways it seems to make money on the Chatter App is through gaining subscribers. Just like with similar social media apps like Instagram and X, there will be ways on Chatter for people to monetize their followers. Channels can offer the option for followers to subscribe, and if people subscribe, those subscribers can get perks that the channel offers such subscribers.
2. Through Contributions
Think of contributions like tips. If a person likes what you’re saying or wants to give you money for whatever reason, they have the option to tip you by sending a ‘contribution’. This contribution is another way people are trying to make money through the app.
3. Through Ticketed Events
Channels can also hold events like virtual conferences, workshops, panels, etc. These events have the option to be monetized, and so people would have to buy tickets to be able to have access to these event rooms.
There are other ways the app is promising to pay users and creators on it, but right now, these are the ones people are eyeing the most. They are trying to start channels and crack their brains to think about what they can monetize to offer subscribers, and what kind of events they can hold to sell tickets. What about you?
