Just In : Tribunal To Nullify Delta State 2023 Governorship Election
The Election Petitions Tribunal may nullify the 18th March, 2023 governorship election in Delta State over irregularities, malpractices and over voting.
We can report that the election had produced the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori as winner and that of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ovie OmoAgege as runner up.
According to feeders received from the inspection of electoral materials and BVAS, the irregularities and over voting were discovered in 11 Local Governments across the state.
Although no official statements have been issued to that effect, it was gathered from a reliable source that while the Peoples Democratic Party may opt for a rerun to be declared by the tribunal, the All Progressives Congress on the other hand demands for an outright cancellation of ballots allocated to the PDP and be declared winner in the affected Local Government Areas.
“The petition from APC Legal Team to this case is simply standing that – in all the overvoting listed Local Governments and Wards – only results for PDP should be canceled because they are the riggers of the elections while the remaining political parties results will not be canceled.”, the source said.
