Apc Youths Affirms Support for Orji Kalu to Succeed Lawan As Senate President
An All Progressive Congress Support Group, APC National Youth Advocates has declared its support for the election of Sen. Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, The Senate Minority Whip and most ranking Igbo man in the National Assembly to succeed Senator Ahmed La as the Next Senate President.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja on the choice of Orji Uzor Kalu, The National Secretary of the group, Comrade Onyebuchi Emmanuel stated that “Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu examplified attributes required of a leader, and his loyalty to the Party’s supreme decision is an attestation that he is not a desperate politician but a leader who believes in the democratic process, Recall, that he vied for the position of the Deputy Senate President in the current Senate, but when the decision of the party to zone the position was communicated to him, he stepped down and supported the emergence of Senator Ovie Omo Agege. He never opposed the position of the party but as a loyal party stalwart he abode by the decision of the party, Recall, that he made an attempt to run to clinch the APC Presidential Ticket but when Asiwaju emerged as the Candidate of the party, He rallied all relevant stakeholders to support his election and subsequent emergence”.
The group also appealed to the newly senators- elect to elect Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as the senate President, The group assured that A Senate led by Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu will work harmoniously with the executive to pass people’s oriented bills that will affect Nigerians positively. They assured that OUK will stabilize the Senate and oversee a Senate that will work for the Nigerian people and address various constitutional issues that is bedeviling Nigerians development.
The group stated futher that the South West and North East zone has produced the president and Vice President, that it is necessary for the party to zone the position of the senate President to South East in the interest of equity, fairness and justice.
They futher asserted that Orji Uzor Kalu is a pan Nigerian whose political and business strides Criss crosses all parts of Nigerians without opposition, rancour or animosity as his acceptability to all Nigerians across the six geo-political zones is unparalleled.
