A social Political Organisation, United Nigeria Ambassadors has joined Nigerians from across the six Geo-Political Zone to call on the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo to consider and accept the Several calls by well meaning and respectful Nigerians to run for presidency in 2023.
In A joint Statement made by Amb Timothy Nwachukwu, The National Coordinator, United Nigeria Ambassadors and Hon. Adamu Musa, Deputy National Coordinators, Hon. Babangida Malabu, National Adminstrative Secretary in Abuja, the trio stated that His Excellency Prof. Yemi Osibanjo stands in a class of his own among all the aspirants that are angling to succeed President Buhari.
“Prof. Yemi Osibanjo has been an integral part of the various social and economic Intervention by President Buhari led Government,
“Prof. Osibanjo will not be learning on the job of Governance as he has been an acting president and has endeared himself to the hearts of Nigerians across social cultural and ethnic divide.
“His strategic partnership with the President birthed the Tradermoni, Marketmoni, Farmermoni, Npower, conditional cash transfer, home grown schools feeding, special grant transfer, public workfare and skills for jobs, youth employment and social support operation and now rural women cash grant, to other Federal Government interventions.
“The N-power programme is designed to assist young Nigerians between the ages of 18 to 35 to acquire and develop life-long skills for becoming change makers in their communities and players in the domestic and global markets and given a stipend of N30,000 montly.
“The Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme directly supports those within the lowest poverty bracket by improving nutrition, increasing household consumption and supporting the development of human capital through cash benefits to various categories of the poor and vulnerable. The support is conditioned on fulfilling soft and hard co-responsibilities that enable recipients improve their standard of living.
The group called on the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to give the Vice President, The right to first refusal ahead of the primary election scheduled for next year.
The group further restated that having worked closely with Mr President in implementing the programs and policies of All Progressive Congress (APC) it behoves on the leadership of the party to grant automatic ticket to Prof. Osibanjo as he is Eminently qualified and the most experienced and prepared to saddled the leadership of Nigeria come 2023.
