Owelle Community Sends SOS to Gov. Soludo
The Elders of Owelle Town Union in Anambra West Local Government of Anambra State has called on His Excellency Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, The Governor of Anambra State to come to the aid of their town by restating their traditional Ruler who was removed by former Governor Willie Obiano for accompanying Prince Arthur Eze to Abuja.
The Elders who spoke to our media correspondent lamented that the offence of their traditional Ruler is not known to the law and thus, his removal is an aberration and a denigration to the revered traditional institution of Owelle town and thereby bringing Owelle town to a disrepute before Nigerians.
In his words, Mr. Egwuda Paul Eziamaka- said,
“We are appealing to Hon. Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, The Commissioner For Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, The Chief of Staff, Hon. Ernest Ezeajuhi to help us by bringing our plight to the attention of Mr. Governor for immediate reinstatement of IGWE ANTHONY OKECHUKWU ONYEKWERE as the traditional ruler of OWELLE TOWN.
Mr. Egwuda Paul Eziamaka- further lamented as follows:
We are really suffering with the absence of our God gifted Traditional Ruler, His Royal Highness, Igwe Anthony Onyekwere.
We are appealing to the Anambra State government to restore our traditional Ruler to his stool. Under his Rulership, our town has experienced unprecedented peace until his illegal removal”.
The people of Owelle town are pleading with Mr. Governor to restore peace in Owelle town by reinstating Igwe Anthony Onyekwere whose certificate of recognition was withdrawn for no lawful basis.
