TEXT:
Ruth 1:16 KJV.

MESSAGE:
☆☆☆ Elimelech left the land of Judah, in the days of famine, with his wife, Naomi, and two sons; for the land of Moab.
☆☆☆ Shortly after their arrival, Elimelech died and the mantle of leadership fell on his wife, Naomi.
☆☆☆ Naomi now had the burden of taking care of her two sons to cope with.
☆☆☆ The two sons, Mahlon and Chilion respectively got married to two Moabites, named Orpah and Ruth.
☆☆☆ The days of tribulation of Naomi didn’t end with the death of her husband as her two sons also died one after the other.

☆☆☆ It was then that Naomi decided to return to her country, to the land of Judah.
☆☆☆ She now pleaded with her two daughter in-laws to return to their own people as she had no sons left who they could marry. Her husband was dead and she was too old to re-marry and have other children.
☆☆☆ After much persuasion and pleading, Orpah agreed to return to her people but Ruth stuck to her mother in-law, Naomi.
☆☆☆ Listen to the words of Ruth again:

“Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God” – Ruth 1:16.

☆☆☆ This statement will now lead us to the main issue for today 👇
☆☆☆ What kind of leader are you?
☆☆☆ What type of leadership role are you laying down for your followers.
☆☆☆ How do you manage your home, your family or even your subordinates in the office?

☆☆☆ A leader I met somewhere once said, “I love to be a leader who his followers will willingly be happy to follow, without being forced or coerced to do so”.
☆☆☆ I also know a man of God, if you invite him for a program and you need to provide him with accommodation, he will insist you do the same for his driver. The same food you serve him, you must serve his driver.

☆☆☆ Naomi was such a leader that Ruth refused to let go.
☆☆☆ Remember that Ruth was a daughter in-law to Naomi.
☆☆☆ So, what is the relationship like between you and your in-laws?
☆☆☆ What will be the reaction of your subordinates the day you are transferred out of that office?
☆☆☆ Will they miss you or celebrate your exist?
☆☆☆ How are you treating those you are leading?
☆☆☆ As a father, do your children recline into their shells immediately you return home because of fear of the unknown?
☆☆☆ Rather than scolding your children with love whenever they go wrong, do you turn yourself to a terror?

☆☆☆ The sign of good leadership is not in the amount of work done in your presence but the quantum of what is accomplished in your absence without your supervision.
☆☆☆ There are some leaders today that the position they occupy is intoxicating them. I once heard of a particular leader whose subordinates nicknamed “Am in-charge”.
☆☆☆ In every little argument, he would remind his subordinates that he was in-charge. Beloved, the moment a leader begins to remind those he is leading that he is in-charge, he has long lost being in-charge.
☆☆☆ I heard of another leader who has been nicknamed “are you challenging my authority”!!! This is because whatever he says must be final.
☆☆☆ Are you a mentor to your followers or a tormentor. God is watching.
☆☆☆ For the bible says 👇

“If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they” – Ecclesiastes 5:8.

PRAYERS
1. Oh God my father, give me the grace to be a leader whose absence will be missed by his subordinates.
2. Let my life become an epistle of good leadership to the people you put under my watch.
3. My father, my creator, if pride sets into my life; be gracious enough to remind me that you own the air I breathe.
4. Father, I refuse to be a Pharaoh to my followers, make me a Deborah and a Naomi to my people.
5. Title kills but Mantle dismantles: Father, put on me the mantle that destroys yokes in replacement for the title given by men.
6. Father, don’t allow me to be intoxicated by any position I find myself.
7. Father, make me a compassionate leader to my followers rather than being an heartless leader.
8. Make me a shinning light Lord, to illuminate the darkness of this world.
9. No man gets to any position of authority without the approval of God, please Lord, don’t allow me to become a disappointment to your kingdom.
10. What shall it please a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul. Please Lord, don’t allow the activities of this world or any position, for that matter, to derail me from making heaven.
