Just In : League of National Patriots vows to drag Prophet El-buba to court over comments on Shettima, Emir

The League of National Patriots has challenged the General Overseer of Ebomi Temple and Tower, Jos, Prophet Isa El-buba to make public facts of his allegations against the vice presidential candidate Kashim Shettima and Emir of Wase HRH Mummed Sanusi II.
Secretary general of the league, Sanusi Muhammed gave the challenge in a press conference held in Jos Thursday morning.
Muhammed explained that the League is moved to address the press so as to challenge the integrity of Isa El-buba to prove some weighty allegations against top politicians, traditional ruler and the religion of Islam.
“The League has on record, the following comments by El-buba,
“I sent a text message to a particular governor day before yesterday, and he asked me a question on why are you not supporting my candidate. I said I gave you a reason on why I’m not supporting because the one that is in the brain I thought he will repent and change and that is why I gave room for all these periods but the key sponsor of the killer men, the key sponsor of Miyetti Allah, the key sponsor of the killer men that are slaughtering our people in the villages is this man (pointing at the inserted photo of Kashim Shettima, APC Vice presidential candidate) There are things I won’t say here where the meetings took place, himself and one of the Emir in this state, Wase….”
Muhammed noted that from the quoted statement of El-buba, Plateau state and indeed, the respected religion of Christianity, are no doubt heading steadily to another round of religious conflict, saying, “from the quoted comments of El-buba, Plateau state and indeed the respected religion of Christianity, are no doubt heading steadily into another quagmire of extricating themselves from the maniac stranglehold of some demented self appointed preachers and their sundry co-travellers determined to turn the state into another mine field in which blood must flow to water their insatiable quest to position themselves for undue recognition and for pecuniary gains, albeit irresponsibly”
He said, “We on league of National Patriots, have watched from a dignified distance the dangerous antics of some mischievous, self-appointed preachers in both religion of Islam and Christianity who have arrogated to themselves the a questionable holier-than-thou-attitude, calling to question the integrity of some respected Nigerians based on wild, unsubstantiated and reckless allegations and generality pandering to the whims and caprices in a diabolical desire to libelously slander the revered traditional ruler and the religion of Islam.
“In the quoted comments of El-buba, he deliberately malign those respected personalities ostensibly to get recognition. We made bold to conclude that El-buba is on a mission of character assassination because he failed to point out any offence committed by the personalities he intended to blackmail in his comments.
“The comments of El-buba is a clear demonstration that he is trading hatred and blackmail under the guise of religion. His intention is to cause chaos and maximum character damage to both the traditional ruler, APC Vice presidential candidate and the former governor of central bank he refused to name is unmistakably insidious
“Ours is not intended to provide a shield of protection to anyone found wanting no matter how highly placed but to strengthen the records, challenge Isa El-Buba to prove his allegations with facts and to encourage peaceful coexistence for the good of Plateau state and Nigeria.
“We hereby challenge Isa El-buba to prove those allegations against HRH the Emir of Wase and Chairman Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) Plateau state chapter, His excellency Kashim Shettima and the unnamed former governor of CBN with those facts he claimed to be at his disposal.
“Ours is far from requesting for any apology to those personalities or seek retrieval of his comments, but to request a proof so as to facilitate further action against those he claimed to be breaching the peace and slaughtering his people in the villages. His failure to prove those weighty allegations and insinuations is an encouragement to seek redress in the relevant court of law.
“We have tolerated enough from Isa El-buba over his careless comments in the past, but this time around, we cannot fold our arms and allow him to distrupt the peace already achieved in Plateau state”
However, Prophet El-buba, in his response to League of National Patriots said, “I have respect for traditional institutions in the north.
According to El-buba, “what the handlers of League of National Patriots wanted to use against me was on a matter I was discussing at a fora held at EBOMI Headquarters that was doctored by mischief makers with the inserting of the picture of Shettima, the former governor of Borno state and presently the running mate of Tinubu for the 2023 Presidencial election.
“The North has been at the center of denial for too long, yet for the events that are happening in Zamfara state, some traditional rulers have been removed or suspended from office as they were fingered in having hands in the armed banditry that are going on in that state.
“Activities of few bad eggs have dented the image of Fulanis in the country as certain individuals are using Fulani herders to push forward their own agenda which is destabilization of the country”.
El-Buba added that he is one of the most peaceful Christian Clerics in Nigeria by the grace of God coming from a Muslim background.
On the Emir of Wase, El-buba said, “I have nothing against Emir of Wase as a person and I challenged the League of National Patriots to take legal action against me if they so wish, I have certain documents to buttress my claims on the ugly happening in the North”
