Economic Development – House of Assembly Hopeful, Oluwaseyi Joseph Kolawole Empowers Women in Akoko
New Nigeria People’s Party, House of Assembly candidate in Àkókó North West Constituency 1 of Ondo State, Hon. Oluwaseyi Joseph Kolawole, has empowered over hundred persons from his Constituency with non-refundable grants to boost their petty businesses.
The empowerment programme which was covered by our heritage reporter have hundreds of women in the consistuency who smiled home with joy immesurable.
While presenting the grants to the beneficiaries, Hon. Oluwaseyi stated that the gesture is borne out of the need to make the commercially viable.
According to him, it is sad that many of the beneficiaries took soft loans to augment their businesses, therefore I am doing this to help my people boost their various businesses, so as to change their standard of living.
A lot of them obtained loans from different microcredit organisations which mode of payment has become a major problem for them.
Also speaking at the event, the chairman of NNPP in Àkókó North West local government, expressed his satisfaction with the choice of Oluwaseyi as the party’s flag bearer in
He said, “Long before his political ambition, he has been lifting a lot of people out of poverty which I’m sure he’s still going to be doing more if given the chance to represent the people”
One of the beneficiaries of the grants, Mrs. Balogun Titilayo thanked Hon. Oluwaseyi for always been there for his people.
“Hon. Oluwaseyi is not just doing this to gain popularity or gain vote, but he’s doing this because he is a special giver. He personally presented roofing sheets for over hundred houses affected by rainstorm in Okeagbe”, she said.
However, Hon. (Dr.) Oluwaseyi also promised the people that if elected, his salary will be for his people, “i have concluded plans with a micro finance firm, our traders will be having access to soft loans”.
