MESSAGE
☆☆☆ We all read the accounts of Matthew and Luke concerning the temptation of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
☆☆☆ Here in the book of Luke, the bible says, “And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season”.

☆☆☆ Did you notice that phrase “for a season”?
☆☆☆ Beloved, after every victory, prepare for another war.
☆☆☆ The devil is a goat who doesn’t give up easily.
☆☆☆ If you hit a goat with a rod on the head, she will only depart “for a season”.
☆☆☆ That goat will go into hiding close by, where it can monitor your movement and take advantage of the next available opportunity.

☆☆☆ No wonder the scripture warns, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” – 1 Peter 5:8.
☆☆☆ The devil, like a goat, is never tired. He will surely strike again.
☆☆☆ The reason why the bible cautions that we must be vigilant is because the devil may come in another form.
☆☆☆ If you are not vigilant, he will get you off guard.
☆☆☆ Having left Jesus for a season, he looked for a convenient time to appear again but this time round, in another form.

☆☆☆ When you read Matthew 16:21-23, verse 21 in particular, the bible says “From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day”.
☆☆☆ In verse 22, the bible says, “Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee”.
☆☆☆ Jesus Christ was vigilant and he knew that the devil had entered into Peter to stop him (Jesus) from fulfilling the purpose for which he came to the world.
☆☆☆ You will discover that when Jesus was to rebuke Peter, he addressed him as satan and used the exact words he used to silence satan in Matthew 4:10 👇

“But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan” – Matthew 16:23.

☆☆☆ If the devil is never tired of battles, then as children of God, we must not be tired of fighting.
☆☆☆ Beloved, the devil is always on the look out for your careless moves.
☆☆☆ That’s why the bible counsels in Mark 14:34 “watch and pray”.
